A wonderful place to stay after a long day of hiking on the Camino! I was surprised by how nice my room was. Clean, cozy, complimentary coffee/tea and a nice shower/bathtub. Would highly recommend!
AVOID IF POSSIBLE. Visited during a heat wave and I had the room on the very top floor (attic). I requested for the AC, which can only be controlled by the owner, to be turned on. It was set to 25 deg Celsius, and after a good 15 min of it on, it was still not comfortable so I requested the temp to be lowered. The owner lady came to my room, noticed the windows open (I had just opened them because it was too hot!) and started berating me for having the AC on with windows open. She then argued with me, saying that 25 deg is a comfortable temperature “for everybody” and even “the government” says so. I clearly expressed that I personally am uncomfortable but she continued to repeat her points. She then also said that she doesn’t want the other guests to hear the AC, which makes no sense because it was already on at 25 deg and not loud at all. I asked her what if I am too uncomfortable and cannot sleep? She literally just shrugged. I have literally never had such an interaction with the hospitality industry. Enough with the excuses, just say you’re a cheap hotel who doesn’t care at all about the patron’s comfort and be done with it. I was NOT ABLE TO SLEEP when I had 30km to walk the next day for the Camino, because it was so hot. There are also rats inside the attic roof, where the bathroom is.
Wonderful pension in a great location. 2 minute walk to the beach and a 5 minute walk to the plaza central. Very friendly staff. Room was clean and had everything we needed including AC.
Zumardi is a beautiful place where you can enjoy a relaxing break, whether you´re alone, with your partner, or with your family. We´ve stayed there several times, and every visit has been a great experience! The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere feels very homely. The rooms we´ve stayed in were very comfortable and cleans. The design is thoughtful and warm, with cozy beds and just the right amount of space for us. We also enjoyed a delicious breakfast! You can really tell they are experienced in hospitality. Zumardi has an ideal location-right next to the beach and very close to the town center. It´s definitely worth visiting Pension Zumardi!
