My companion and I have been on the Camino for several days now, and this has been our favorite accommodation so far. Perfectly located on a hill overlooking the beach/ bay. The rooms were clean and the bed was very comfortable! Best of all, it was quiet at night. Not to mention the host was VERY KIND and very helpful. We will be staying here again in the future!
For the price 50€ I had a super cold room, without heat, conditioner or even a hairdryer. That day I was 100% wet because of the rain. In bathroom and in my bed I found at least 7 pieces of long hair. Seems like they didn’t change even the bedsheets. They didn’t have any options for dinner in restaurant, but I figured out it just when went downstairs at 19:00. Because in room I have a list with information about dinner at 19. My delivery apps didn’t work, because I’m not Spanish. And nobody could help me because they don’t speak English. So I had to go to sleep cold and without food. Please be careful when book a room here. But in the same time women who work there really nice and I’m really sorry what I have this kind of experience
The Hostel has seen better days. The rooms are oldish. Wifi is free but extremely weak. Views are good but the highway in front of it noisy especially if you have a room in the front side. Good points are the cuisine which is local and good value. The bar has a lot to offer. The cuisine closes at 9.30pm. Paid 65€ for a room at weekend and 15€ for the menu del dia.
Don't even think of stopping here! It might be tempting as a pilgrim to stop here and finish your journey for the day, especially if you have walked from Castro Urdiales and wanted to make it to Laredo instead of Liendo. This hostel was the worst hostel I experienced on my whole Camino del Norte. The rooms are old fashioned, the bathroom (especially the ceiling in the shower) was full of spider's webs, the basin was just loosely fixed in the wall so I almost lifted it off accidently. The air in the rooms are muggy since there are old heavy carpets on the floor and the walls and it is almost impossible due to the window positions to get fresh air inside the room. In addition to that some kind of motor-voice from inside the hostel (probably some kind of a water pump) appeared regularly...probably each half hour. A good sleep therefore not possible. And the top thing: The prices for food are just hilarious. For a 0.5 beer you pay 5€ and the dinner (15€) was not worth even 5. Unfortunately I was so exhausted from my trip from Castro Urdiales that I stopped here - do not make the same mistake! This is the worst hostel on the whole Camino del Norte from Irun to Santiago.
