I really don’t understand the negative reviews. My young daughters and I are on the Camino and got to Laredo after 8pm - and were so lucky to find Pension Esmeralda! It’s right in the centre but still in a quiet corner, so we had a very restful night after a long hard day walking. The lady picked up the phone straight away(you have to call) and was very friendly and really welcoming, although we only speak very little Spanish. Our triple room was basic but had a private bathroom and was very clean - all we needed for the night. The great location meant we had lots of options for dinner and breakfast. We were very happy with our stay and would definitely recommend this accommodation.

Incredible! I called to ask for information and the service was terrible. She couldn't even give me prices because, according to her, I had to book a few days in advance, not two months ahead. She was incredibly rude from the start. She told me to go to a better hotel where they could book in advance and then hung up on me. That shows you how polite she is. Honestly, if this is how I've been treated over the phone, I can't imagine what it's like when you're actually there. What an unfriendly and rude woman!
A guesthouse with a fantastic location, the sisters who run it provide wonderful and very friendly service. The guesthouse is beautiful and charming, with a small garden for guests. The cleanliness is also impeccable, and the rooms are very comfortable. If we return to Laredo, we will definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.
