1 / 5 I do not recommend this hostel. After a long rainy Camino, I wanted a warm shower, but there was only cold water. The room has no windows and you get bracelets like in prison to go from door to door. There were posters everywhere telling you what to do and not do, which made it feel even more like a prison.
The hostel was full of young people making noise all day. They go out and come back very late, some around 1:30 AM. Late arrivals also check in with suitcases and make loud noise without any care for people who are sleeping. Check-in was allowed until 10:30 PM, which makes everything more chaotic.
The room had 22 beds and metal lockers that make loud noise every time you move. No power plugs in common area. Very bad for pilgrims.
Worst hostel experience. Avoid.
1 / 5 Overall, a really disappointing experience, we would not recommend this hostel, avoid it at all cost.
Pro:
- even though the hostel is closed until 3pm, there’s a locker at the entrance, where you can leave your luggage for 2 euros.
- location is okay
Cons:
- no windows
- they check people in after 22:00, so if you’re early to sleep like we were, because we were doing Camino de Santiago, or want a good night’s sleep go somewhere else. This hostel is mostly for teenagers who go out and come back late at night making a lot of noise.
- they give you a bracelet to open all the doors, which is stupid
- lockers are made of metal and they make a lot of noise
- no hot water (Very frustrating because it was a rainy day and after walking for so long, all we wanted was a hot shower)
- not the cleanest place
The overall feeling of the place is off, almost depressing. We left very early, because we preffered to stay an extra hour in the bus station instead of spending another minute in this hostel, which says a lot about the place.
5 / 5 This was an amazing hostel! The entry and security system they have is first class. Staff was great, everything was clean, the beds were comfortable in the location is perfect. The only advice I can offer is the temperature especially when sleeping. They do have air conditioning, but when I went to bed, I noticed the AC was on 30° so it wasn’t coming on. I asked the staff and she lowered it with no problem. A suggestion would be that the staff just automatically lower the temperature some at 8 PM. But in case they don’t, I would recommend asking because there’s no ventilation to the outside.
5 / 5 The woman at the front was very nice and helpful. Though we couldn’t speak spanish she did understand our English and was taking care of us during our stay. The bathrooms are clean and the beds too. Very good experience.
5 / 5 Quite elaborated hostel with individual reading lamps & curtains for privacy.
Only thing I‘d add would be a toaster but apart from that the kitchen is very well-equipped!
