I asked for a room with nice views and I got a view at a parking and no sun. Wrong side of the hotel. There were plenty of rooms available when I booked. For a 1 night stay ok, but not for 3 days. No fridge (almost always available in Spanish hotels). No room service the second night. The bike I rented from them is good for going to the beaches but much too weak for the hills.
A very clean and comfortable hotel with friendly welcoming staff. The restaurant is superb- high quality food and service at a reasonable price. Our room didn’t have air conditioning but thick walls and opening windows in the cooler times of day were sufficient even during hot sunny August. Update: we enjoyed our stay in 2023 so we returned in 2025. It was even better than we remembered; this is an excellent hotel mainly down to the staff who are friendly and very hard working and made our stay exceptional. We went on to 4 and 5 star hotels in Bilbao San Sebastián and Pamplona but enjoyed our stay here the most. We also had the Gourmet offer of breakfast and dinner and both were excellent - and great value for money. We rarely return to hotels or locations but we love this part of Spain so maybe we will - and The Don Paco will be our first choice.
Charming old building, beautifully restored. Top class restaurant- worth visiting even if not staying at the hotel. Staff warm and welcoming. Within a few metres of the heart of the town. A very comfortable stay.
A lovely place with lovely people in an excellent location. The free parking was very nearby and incredibly convenient given how busy the town was. The room was large and airy with an excellent bathroom. The bar and restaurant service was very friendly and the food was superb. Finally - the restaurant setting is beautiful.
The best things about this hotel are it’s location in the heart of the city, a few hundred meters from the nearest beach. It’s a beautiful ancient convent turned into a nice hotel. The staff was quiet friendly and attentive. The rooms are big and the hot water plentiful. Unfortunately the bed was not comfortable. We had a king size bed made from two twins, and the mattress on my side sank. The hotel has no A/C in the rooms and it was hit. Unfortunately the location also makes it loud at night, so keeping the window opened wasn’t a good option. The hotel had free wifi, but it worked poorly in the room. It does have free parking, which is very convenient in this small town.
