Apartments Los Solares

Our whole family recently stayed at Apartamentos Los Solares, and the experience was wonderful. The apartment's location is unbeatable for exploring all of Cantabria. Everything was excellent in terms of cleanliness, furniture, and amenities—everything was very complete. The owners were very attentive and friendly, always ready to help with anything we needed. An experience we'd definitely repeat.

Very bad experience with the owners. A few days ago, I booked a week in August at these apartments through a platform, without any problems, and I received a confirmation email. But the next day, the owner contacted me to say that bookings could only be made from Saturday to Saturday, and that I had to change the reservation. Even though this condition wasn't stated on the website, I told them I had no problem changing it. He said I had to cancel it and rebook it, but I told them that I was charged a cancellation fee, and that they had to cancel it. They kept giving me the runaround for several days, telling me they had canceled it, but it still showed as booked on my system. Finally, he told me they were going to renovate and would be closed in July and August, that they had just been informed, and that they weren't taking reservations for those months. Fed up with everything, I clicked cancel, and then the platform called me to say the owner had tricked me. They'd been talking to him, and what he really wanted was for the tenant to cancel so they wouldn't have to pay the penalty. What he really wanted was to raise the price. They're unscrupulous crooks, and in fact, this booking site told me they wouldn't work with them anymore, saying that people like that give them a bad reputation. And they even refunded my penalty because they know it wasn't my fault. If you can, book somewhere else and save yourself the trouble.

Horrible!!! I booked with them in August 2024 for 3 nights. I received immediate confirmation from the accommodation and another confirmation/reminder by email a week before. After traveling 700 kilometers, upon arriving in Cantabria, they told me they had no record of my reservation and that the apartment was occupied. They said they couldn't offer any compensation or solution; basically, they took no responsibility and completely washed their hands of the matter. Yet their apartments continue to appear as available on countless websites. Anyway, I'll never know if they had my reservation and received another one from somewhere else that was more appealing to them during peak season... but that's OBVIOUSLY what I suspect. I want to leave this message here and everywhere else I can so that this doesn't happen to anyone else, because honestly, it's the worst thing that can happen when, after a whole year of work, the long-awaited vacation finally arrives and you're left completely stranded with nowhere to sleep, 700 km from home. **RESPONSE TO YOUR COMMENT**: You listed your accommodation on the booking platforms, and I paid for the reservation. Shortly after, I received your confirmation. Don't blame the platform, because the confirmations aren't issued by the platform, but by the accommodation owner! I don't care, and I have no idea whether the platform charges a lot or a little; it's not my problem. The truth is as it is. I made a reservation at Apartamento Los Solares de Mogro, and I received your confirmation. In fact, I've attached the reservation confirmation document to this comment. You have very little consideration for your guests! All I did was reserve and pay for available dates, and upon arrival, we were left stranded with the apartment occupied. We demand a solution to this problem, which you, and only you, have caused.

We stayed at the end of August and left Cantabria with a very good impression. The apartment was very clean and tidy, with everything you need for a few days' stay. We used the barbecue without any problems, and although the pool isn't exactly at the apartments, it's less than a 3-minute walk. The pool is fantastic! And the owners were super friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended. Thank you!

We chose these apartments for their location, just 10 minutes from Santander and very close to other attractions (San Vicente Barquera, Comillas, Cabarceno, etc.). We were two families with children and booked the two apartments on the top floor; they are fully equipped. We didn't use the barbecue in the garden because the weather was bad. The owners live in a nearby house that has an indoor pool available to guests. The owners are very friendly. WE WILL RETURN.
