1 / 5 We stayed for 3 nights after completing El Camino. I dont normally write negative reviews, however, I am afraid this is one of them. This is by no means 4 star when we paid over 280 euro per night for a standard double room.
The positives are the fabulous location and the historical building within which this hotel is situated.
The drawbacks are the service and the lack of facilities in the bedroom. There are no bathrobes, coffee machine or fridge in the standard room. They will provide a kettle, ironing board and iron on request although we felt these were provided with reluctance. Additionally, our room was not cleaned until after 4pm in the afternoon on successive days. This was most inconvenient as we wanted to rest having been out since breakfast. They were only serviced on day 2 and 3 of our stay after we informed the reception staff. Even then staff were not apologetic and became very defensive. When I requested to speak to the duty manager I was told at Reception that there wasn't one availablle that day.
On the whole, we did not find the staff throughout the hotel friendly or helpful.
I submitted a formal complaint over a week ago, I still have not had a reply. This is very disappointing. I certainly will not be staying at this hotel even if it is at a much cheaper rate.
5 / 5 Great stay at the end of a Camino. Located near the Cathedral. Service and food was great and a real treat after a long walk. The pool and jacuzzi were an added bonus. The complete menu is at a great price and of high quality.
4 / 5 The staff were fantastic, friendly, helpful in every way.
Our visit was in February so the use of the spa & pool was such an added bonus, (probably because we had it to ourselves).
Breakfast was excellent and the breakfast room an amazing experience. Free parking.
We found the hotel a bit austere in atmosphere, as if it was still a convent, but that was part of its charm for us.
5 / 5 A great hotel, a superb restaurant, a majestic building in the historic town centre and very reasonably priced
5 / 5 The most creepy hotel I ever stay in also the coolest hotel with so much to explore. It used to be an eighteenth-century convent. There still a lot of history in the hotel. The check in was quick and they inform us the two elevator go to two different flood. There a between floor, and where the breakfast is at. I also love that because of my disability, they actually have a really good shower chair in our room. If you have a chance to stay here, do it, do be scared of potential paranormal in this hotel. The pool is big and there is a hot tub. The breakfast is very delicious and the room is a but unsettling with a big Jesse statue watching you eat. The room we had was sufficient and since we finished Walk the Camino de Santiago, they lost a bottle of wine in our room. I would stay here again as there was so more of the hotel I do not see.
