Cameron is so nice, she gave us the most wonderful bedroom with a huge balcony and a very comfortable bed. Hot shower, great location. Great price!
Carmen is a charming and attentive woman. He made it very easy for us. The room is somewhat dated but the location is perfect to enjoy the city center. Recommended for one or two nights.
I booked the accommodation for two nights after my Camino and didn't regret it. About 300 meters from the cathedral. Wi-Fi included. Value for money: unbeatable! The room is small, but perfectly adequate. It has its own shower and toilet, as well as a super comfortable mattress on which I slept like a baby. From the window, you can see the steeple of the Igrexa San Francisco. The owner, Carmen, was super nice, and I felt very comfortable. Thank you, Carmen. I really enjoyed it.
I had reserved a room three weeks earlier. I called a couple of times to confirm it, and she told me it was reserved. I called the day before, and Mera confirmed the reservation again, but when I arrived at the accommodation, she took a while to open the door and said she had rented my room to an elderly couple. After insisting that she was leaving me on the street because Santiago was full that day, she called a friend of hers, who welcomed me into her home (a 300-year-old house with dampness, although the owner was very friendly) for the same price Mera was charging. Don't take reservations verbally; words can be lost in the wind, and you could end up on the street!
The owner's friendliness is unbeatable. The hostel is very central. The rooms are a bit dated, and you have to share the bathroom. It's a good option for spending a day or several in Santiago.
