Great location — right in the heart of the old city, close to the church and surrounded by restaurants, bars, and shops. It’s also just a 13-minute walk to the main bus station, which makes airport connections very easy. The staff were super nice and welcoming. There’s no elevator, only stairs, but the room itself was cozy and modest in size, very clean and comfortable. The attached bathroom was spacious and thoughtfully maintained, adding to the overall comfort. Finding the place with navigation can be a little tricky at first (as is common in Santiago’s charming maze of narrow old-city streets), but after the first attempt it becomes much easier. A lovely stay overall — I can totally recommend it!
When I arrived there was a small misunderstanding about the local tax, but that was the fault of Booking (com). It's something like 1.25 EUR per night if you want to stay in Santiago's old town. The owners are LOVELY. Maria and her husband are simply great. I booked a single room - deceptively small because it extends a long way. Great Wi-Fi. Most importantly: it is very clean and well organized, and it is very central. To conclude: a perfect place to spend an affordable night, with lovely owners, as a celebration of your Camino conclusion. 10/10.
Centrally located. Room and bathroom were a little small for 2 people, but not too small. Clean and cute with the flowers in the windows and a stone wall. I don't speak any Spanish and check in was still very easy. They kept my bags for a couple hours on the last day while I wandered around and called me a taxi. No complaints.
We arrived in Santiago after completing the Camino Primitivo, right in the middle of a national blackout that was causing quite a few problems across the city. Despite the circumstances, the host welcomed us in the warmest way, which immediately made us feel at ease. Our room was spotless and beautifully maintained. It was spacious and filled with natural light, which made a big difference given the lack of electricity at the time. The bed was very comfortable, and the whole atmosphere was peaceful and quiet, as the hostal is located on a calm street just a short walk from the center. In the morning, we were offered a hearty and delicious breakfast that gave us the perfect start to the day. Thank you again to the host for such a memorable stay. Highly recommended!
Simple room for a good price. The location is great, but the wifi is horrible (maybe it is just here, in the 3rd floor, but changing fast from good --> bad --> disconnect)
