Lovely staff - she helped me with my car booking. Called the car company many times back and forth trying to help. The service and kindness from the staff was very much appreciated and noticed. Rooms were spacious, quiet, and the beds were soft and comfortable. We would stay again. Value for money!
I experienced EXCEPTIONAL customer service at this location. I never leave reviews, but it didn’t feel right not to in this case. I had quite a few baggage hiccups along the Camino, and so I ended up sending my things ahead in a bag to this hotel. I sent another box through the Correos company (who sent it to the wrong location). The women at the front desk helped me try to track down my things for around 30 min, going out of their way to call the company for me, research tracking numbers, and direct to me to other places in Compostela I was looking for. The next day, I ended up having to leave my bags behind while I flew to another country and decided to have my bags picked up at Hotel Hórreos. I later found out that the delivery company had very strict requirements about liquids, aerosols, and labeling. Jessica went out of her way to help me make sure everything was in order, keeping me updated with texts and videos along the way. She could have denied my requests, but instead she provided some of the kindest, most thorough customer service I have experienced. I don’t know what I would have done without her help. I highly recommend Hotel Hórreo and think that whatever the women at the front desk are being paid, it should be doubled. :)
I am sad and a little disappointed. I was a guide with a group of 10 people, and it was my second time in this hotel. And one old lady from my group forgot her glasses case on reception. She tried to take it from reception, and started alarm. Was a sign that asked to don't go to reception, but problem that she speaks just russian and German, not English and Spanish. After in the morning owner of the hotel kicked me out and she said that I cannot come to this place never again. This was not pleasant, lady owner was screaming to us. Unfortunately it happened, and lady from my group was really scared. I give 4 stars, just because of this situation. But rooms was clean and girls on reception gives a good service.
It's a very simple and easy going hotel option in Santiago. The room was pretty small and rather dark, with the only window facing the inner shaft, but for the price you can't potentially get better than that. They allowed me check in prior to the official check-in time, and the staff was next level friendly helping me out with advice. Also the location is superb-close to the historical center and a brisk walk to the train station. Unfortunately, there was no kettle in the room and in the vending machine downstairs no hot water available, but it's a 2* hotel, so I guess it's fine. The code to the front door changes at some point in the evening, so my card didn't work anymore, but there was someone at the reception waiting with a new card: good thing I didn't come back at 3 am :)
Clean, with everything I needed. VERY nice front desk reception. 7-10 min walk from train and bus station (the end of the street leads to the station) excellent! Would stay again!
