The location of the hotel is great. The rooms are ok for a one night stay. We found the facilities lacking, for example no coffee or tea making facilities in the room. We very much appreciated that the hotel stored our luggage for us for a few days while we walked some of the Camino, before returning for another one night stay.
We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Montenegro Compostela! The location is absolutely perfect, just a short walk from the cathedral and close to so many shops, restaurants, and sights. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Our room was very comfortable, super clean, and beautifully decorated. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to explore the city on foot!
A mediocre hotel with a good location. The downside is finding an overnight parking if you drove to town. Rooms are small, as can be expected in old downtowns in Europe, but: 1. The entrance door to the hotel is strange and requires two hand to open 2. You need to run the warm water for a long time, before they arrive 3. The shower is good if you ignore the mold on the ceiling and around the tub. 4. Last, you are asked to insert the room key to activate the light and A/C. ...but you don't need. First, the light will come on anyways and second - there is NO A/C in the room. Just a fake switch and a tower small fan...
The rooms are fine, but...my room was with a balcony to the street and a pub downstairs was open and people have made so much noise it was impossible to sleep. They should have mentioned it...
Hotel Montenegro in Santiago de Compostela, Spain is just about as perfect as can be. The location is unbeatable, tucked right in the heart of the historic centre. The price is excellent for the value you get. The building’s beautiful stonework and the charming rooms create an authentic Galician atmosphere, while the tasteful décor makes the space feel both warm and stylish. Service is consistently friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Everything here is spot on ~ an ideal place to stay in Santiago. Caveat: *Celing was quite thin and cleaning crew walking caused VERY loud squeeking through the ceiling in the morning*
