Hotel Santa Clara in Santiago de Compostela was a highlight of my visit. Situated directly across the street from a centuries-old convent, the location is steeped in history and quiet charm, yet just a short stroll from the cathedral and city center. The rooms are modern, spotless, and thoughtfully arranged. While it’s worth noting that there is no air conditioning, my stay was still quite pleasant—the large windows kept the space cool and airy, even in summer. It’s the kind of place that lets you slow down and truly relax. What truly sets this hotel apart is the exceptional service, especially from Bea at the front desk. Her warmth, professionalism, and genuine care made me feel more like a guest in a friend’s home than a hotel visitor. From thoughtful recommendations to helpful guidance, she went above and beyond. If you’re looking for a peaceful, well-kept hotel with character, comfort, and outstanding service, Hotel Santa Clara is an excellent choice. I would gladly stay again—and I’ll be telling fellow pilgrims and travelers to do the same.
Room not as advertised, shower broken and doesn't drain, no air conditioning, and don't even think about enjoying what looks like a "pool" - it's about 20cm deep and empty.
The biggest selling point of this hotel is the close proximity to the bus stop where people can catch the local bus all the way to the Santiago airport. The bus stop is 2 minute walk from the hotel. The bus fare is €1 per passenger. Amazing. This hotel is a self checked in hotel. It is not too complicated. A lady did showed up the next morning to serve breakfast. The breakfast is good and not too pricy. The lady is so nice and helpful. Thank you som much. Muchas Gracias 💕
Thanks for the warm welcome :) it was perfect to relax after the Camino. Very friendly service! The breakfast was good. The room was small, but Santiago is a busy and expensive place. The only thing I didn’t like was the sink. The water did only slowly exit the sink, so after brushing teeth or shaving it was a mess.
We had the best experience at Santa Clara, the girls at the reception are just amazing! They helped us book the car and prepared the whole itinerary for our road trip. We also received the best tips for Santiago sunset, drinks and more. We highly recommend! Great job girls and a big thank! The place is also clean and nice with comfortable bed.
