5 / 5 Stayed 07/06/25 - Excellent Albergue, the nice landlady let us in quite late to a great room with 2 bunk beds, en suite and balcony overlooking a main square in Villaviciosa.
Great communal space and Camino advice board near reception, very central to several restaurants and bars.
We will stay here again in the future!
5 / 5 Great place to stay while on the Camino !!! Fab room , 4 beds with a bathroom in one room . Great balcony overlooking a very lovely park !!! Clean and comfortable !!!
4 / 5 Hostel El Congreso was clean, and in an excellent location for us to go out and eat, try ciders, walk about, etc. I gave it 4 stars for a couple of reasons: (#1.) I paid 5 euro extra for breakfast which consisted of a continental breakfast made of white toast, coffee, plastic-wrapped muffins, tang (sugary orange drink) and tiny chocolate pastries. This is a breakfast that I could have purchased for 1.5 or 2 euros just downstairs the hostel. (#2.) The room smelled a tad musky...not a huge deal because it was clean.
Overall, I recommend this place. It beat competition in price/location.
4 / 5 I am so sorry, for one star. Correction! This place was very good, rooms looking modern and beds are really comfortable. Also food was very good and for good price. For 9 euro i got a menu peregrinos which included tasty soup, main course, desert and a jug of wine. Also breakfast was really good and cheap. But i give you just 4 stars, cause the wifi conection is very weak.
Thanks for everything.
1 / 5 I was very hopeful about this albergue, given the small rooms and balcony overlooking the park. Unfortunately, there were bed bugs in my bed, unbeknownst to me at the time. I have since broken out with horribly itchy bites all over my body, and I found 3 bed bugs amongst my gear while unpacking the following day, so I'm confident it was from this albergue. Take caution if choosing to stay here.
