Small but adequate rooms, very clean rooms, centrally located, breakfast included at restaurant nextdoor
We had some set menus there and everything was awful. It took an hour and a half to serve the first course, and they brought us Russian salad when we had ordered scorpionfish pie. I told the lady we hadn't ordered salad, and five minutes later she brought us the same thing again. Just to leave as quickly as possible, we accepted the salad. They don't have a terrace, and inside there were six tables crammed together, and it was over 30 degrees Celsius. The waitresses chatted amongst themselves and forgot about the customers. It's no wonder it's always empty. I wouldn't recommend anyone eat at this place; everything was terrible.
The best thing about this accommodation is its location in the center of Villaviciosa and its cleanliness, but... they raised the price to €50 a night without breakfast, without an elevator, without 24-hour reception, and without making any improvements to the hotel. This means the spring mattress is very poor, the window is old and doesn't block out street noise, and at night you have to endure all the noise from the cider houses that close late. During the day there's too much traffic, car horns, etc. The room had a private bathroom with old-fashioned taps that make you fiddle with the hot and cold water lever until you get the temperature right. And when you get out of the shower, there's no bath mat, so you step onto a cold floor. All these inconveniences were forgivable in previous years because the price was reasonable and what you paid matched what you got, but under these conditions, we'll probably stay somewhere else next year.
A very functional, clean, and comfortable hotel. It has a TV and the decor is simple. During my two-night stay, it was very quiet, and the owners were friendly. It's right in the center of Villaviciosa (a very pretty and pleasant town center). A good option if you're visiting Villaviciosa.
Excellent food at a good price, excellent terrace and customer service, very good attention and location. The best place to eat, very generous portions and delicious cuisine. Good homemade desserts, highly recommended.
