Albergue peregrinos Caldas de Reis

Excellent quality. Not your regular hostel experience. We got a separate room for the price of two beds. Clean, well equipped, with the sound of rushing water downstairs. Jesus is a gem. Perfect communication and customer service.

I didn't particularly like this stay: it was perhaps one of the worse albergues I experienced on my camino. The only positive thing I have to say is that the staff was really friendly and spoke good English. Ah, okay, then the location is great, next to the historical bridge. Otherwise I was trying to avoid hanging out here too much - very cramped and not too clean. Washing machine/dryer are more expensive than at a Laundromat nearby. It was impossible to open windows in the room, and the humidity and smell were just next level (it was a room of 8). Only one functional toilet for each gender, which makes it a little too little for such amount of beds. Shower is not particularly convenient and I needed to wait 5 minutes for the hot water to arrive. Almost no storage. Pretty dirty kitchen. But the price was super cheap, so I guess I can understand the quality levels.

One of the best hostels I found while doing the Camino de Santiago. From its cleanliness, comfortable rooms, and well-equipped kitchen to the customer service from both the owner and the staff. Without a doubt, a very pleasant hostel.

The service is good and the receptionist was helpful and had good English. The rooms themselves were alright but the venue next door was playing music loudly late into the night making it hard to sleep. I was in town during the feast of the assumption though, so maybe the loud music was just a random inconvenience and not regular.

Very cute little accomodation. Rooms offered little privacy and too little storage. The showers and toilets were in the same room which was a bit unpractical. The dorms were a bit cold. But the apartment gave a feeling of a shared flat - few more chairs in the kitchen would have been nice to spend the evening together.
