We stayed in the block of rooms at the rear of the hotel. Quite adequate and clean. The warm pool was much enjoyed after a days walking. Good location for the town and quiet. Service was good. Breakfast was very good. While a little tired in the main hotel it did have a lovely atmosphere.

As has been mentioned before, this once grand hotel is looking its age and in need of an upgrade. I stayed in a separate wind at the back which was lovely and quiet. The room was spacious, water in the bathroom hot and the bed comfy. The staff at reception were very welcoming, efficient and knowledgeable. The thermal pool was very welcome after a few days on the Camino. Breakfast was good and set me up for another day's walking.

If only someone invested some money into this hotel…! I imagine it would have been beautiful decades ago but now it’s been left to decay. The rooms and communal spaces are very tired, and - when we stayed - boiling hot. The receptionist was friendly though, and they have a lovely outside pool which is the hotel’s redeeming feature. Shame breakfast doesn’t open slightly earlier as most pilgrims want to be on the road by 8am.

DO NOT STAY. Wish we would have switched hotels that night. For prospective we got put in the "Villas" while walking our Camino in mid June 2024, it was raining. The reception desk was very helpful and nice! They set us up for a picnic breakfast since we were leaving before 8am when breakfast was available. WORST PART THE ROOM. I wasn't expecting a five star hotel or even a 4 I was expecting a Camino hotel/place to sleep. But this it was nasty. The bedding was uncomfortable and thin, the furniture was old and dusty. You could hear through the paper thin walls. But THE MOLD SMELL FROM THE BATHROOM was by far the worst part. This isn't the fault of just cleaning service it is a management problem that needs to be addressed. The rooms are outdated and disgusting. We also tried to eat at the bar in the hotel and were rudely told they didn't have the kitchen open for the rest of the night. Although we weren't given a reason. I was being understanding of the language barrier and my little Spanish and so just left. Finally what is meant to be the best part the hot springs. It's ok what you would expect. I wouldn't pay for it but it's a nice perk. Pool is old but it's pretty nice on muscles after a long walk.

The hotel is a grand old building that must have shined in it's youth but now it desperately needs TLC. It's not bad, I had a pleasant stay but you can see the need for a thorough renovation. The staff are very nice, friendly and helpful. The spa services were wonderful. I enjoyed the hot chocolate body wrap and facial. It definitely needs more staff to clean the place better. I spent an extra day off here to relax from walking the camino. The thermal pool definitely helps with sore muscles.
