A wonderful and historic property. The owner’s father lets you in and is a very charming host. Beautiful interior and rooms. An outdoor patio at the rear with free coffee and drinks. An outdoor pool (which I unfortunately couldn’t use). All at very reasonable prices. The only issue is traffic noise from the front because the property is on a Main Street. This was not a real issue in December because I could close my window but I can imagine it is a problem in the summer. All it requires is proper sealing around the front door and this won’t be an issue either.
We stayed here in August last year, and it was a beautiful and restorative stop for the last stretch of the Caminho Português. Fernando (the owner) was very friendly and welcoming. The room was beautiful, cosy and the attention to detail was really heartfelt. We still talk about this beautiful place! There’s a pool, a beautiful garden, and it’s down the street from the local thermal baths, which altogether regenerated us for the remaining days walking. Unforgettable. Obrigada!
The rooms are clean and cozy with very scenic views. The garden and shared area for me was the highlight! Fernando, the owner, was also a very friendly and bubbly person.
By far the best place we’ve stayed on the Camino! Don’t miss out of this one. Amazing rooms, extremely comfortable beds, the pool area was so relaxing and they have free beer and wine. The owner and his grandson were so accommodating and friendly. 100% recommended!
Our top favorite place while hiking El Camino, specifically because of the amazing welcome we experienced by the owner and his grandson. They were a dynamic duo who completely made our day - they shared storytelling of their earlier lives (race car driving photos shown throughout the hotel!) and extensive conversation about the incredible wine region. Such love and passion. My husband and I could have easily stayed for several more nights. The backyard pool was perfect after long days in July heat on the Camino. Lovely to have been surprised by so much open space / yard to fully relax (photos don’t do it justice). Highly recommend and it’s also very convenient on Camino and easily walking into town for dinner (within minutes).
