Agree with others who said its surprising this is a 2 star only. Should be higher. Maria at the reception is a joy to be greeted with after my long camino hike. The bed is comfy, heat is great; and just a 3 min walk to the famous thermal hot springs. Maria also helped me find a bagpack transport for my journey tomorrow which honestly makes her even more if an angel for me! The restaurant is legit! So glad I found this last minute - feel so relaxed and rejuvenated for my final 2 days of the Camino.
Fabulous stay at this beautiful hotel. Room wa clean, quiet and well appointed. Our group enjoyed a fabulous breakfast before continuing on our way. Strongly recommend!!
The room had a fridge, an electric kettle, and mugs. Very neat, clean, and nicely made up. The room looked out onto the little streets of the historic quarter and was very close to the Camino de Santiago and other places of interest. The hotel’s breakfast was also VERY good. Of all the hotel breakfasts I had during Camino, Roquiño was the only one to serve eggs and bacon. Their orange juice was REALLY good, and you can mix your coffee so that it’s more milk than coffee. Also, we ate at Hotel Roquiño’s restaurant, which, maybe we were biased because we’d come from a long trek, but that grilled pork was good, as was the tortilla de patatas. I don’t have pics of the room but I do have pics of the food which tells you where my mind was at.
The hotel is located in a great area and is clean but unfortunately the service is very poor. The lady in charge of the front desk is rude and not trained for customer service. Upon expressing my disappointment with her treatment she let me know right away that she was the owner’s girlfriend. I immediately asked to speak with the owner, I explain the situation and asked not to have this lady (Chiara) deal with our group of 15 guests again. Chiara emailed apologizing for her attitude but didn’t provide many solutions to the obstacles she put up upon checking-in. Other than the terrible experience with Chiara, this hotel was a good experience. I hope the owner dealt with the situation, I’d make sure to ask if they did before going again.
We were on our Camino journey, this hotel is such a wonderful treat! All the staff are kind and helpful. Room is clean and bright, and has everything we needed. Restaurant has very good food, especially the noodle with vegetables dish, so delicious! They offer generous and tasty breakfast! We will definitely stay here again if I come back to this town! Thank you!
