Caminha

Caminha is a charming riverside town at the mouth of the Minho River, offering a scenic ferry crossing into Spain for pilgrims on the Camino Portuguese. Its medieval heritage is evident in the narrow streets and 15th-century clock tower, which add to the town’s historic appeal. To continue the coastal route, you will need to take a ferry across to the port of A Guarda. Alternatively, you follow the river to Tui. Note that there are several pilgrim tours that can be taken by boat upstream to Valenca, which can be ideal as there is not many places to stop between the two localities.
