This review is long overdue, as I visited quite a while ago. I was visiting Coimbra, and I stayed here for a few nights. My stay was great, and as the place is as described "cosy rooms with style". The hosts were quite accommodating and even prepared breakfast for me on my last day and kept outside the room door, as I would check out very early in the morning. The only "adventure" of the trip was Google maps guiding me there from the train station via what seemed to be an infinite number of stairs!!! So, if you have heavy luggage I would suggest taking a taxi or planning better than me. I would happily visit again.
TAXI ESSENTIAL!! ( back of University) . Beautiful establishment perfectly placed for the University and set in a student area,( think sophisticated Coimbra rather than unwashed scholars.) Casa is surprisingly large but rooms slightly aged. Wonderful rear garden, great breakfasts, helpful knowledgeable staff from Amsterdam, wonderful holiday.
Beautiful little guesthouse in the heart of the old town in Coimbra, close to the university and cathedrals, the major attractions. The staff are wonderful, always ready with helpful advice.
Had a wonderful night at Casa Pombal. They were very accommodating of our family of 5 (including a baby). The views are lovely, the location ideal, the price is great and the included breakfast was enjoyed by all.
Near the city center. If you don't mind old and vintage house with shared bathroom your ok. Accomodations are good besides the age of house. View is great. My 3rd time around.
