DON'T BOOK!! DON'T TRUST!! Booked a room on May 16, 2025 for September 30, 2025 on Booking.com. Room was fully paid. On September 23, I am receiving an email saying "Your booking has been successfully modified for November 30, 2025". Really??!! Called Booking.com for an explanation, and was said that the property did SNEAKILY change my booking dates with no warning to avoid having to pay a penalty from Booking.com!! So I had to request the cancellation myself, and since I was the one to cancel, I didn't get the $50 voucher I was entitled too!! Had to search for a new place where to stay which of course cost me more!!
Unfortunately there were some ants in the building but the staff were right on top of it. Excellent money for value! I paid 15€ and had a room all for myself with 2 shared bathrooms for only 4 people! You couldn't really ask for more for that price! I definitely recommend this place! You can also get an amazing view of the city and the old monastery of Santa Clara!
Not recommended! We booked a room and we had problem with communication with the host (we tried to call and text but no answer). We did not receive the house number of our room, therefore we had look by ourselves to find it. The room in the end was different from the one that we booked. No information about the checkout was provided, again we had to look ourselves where to leave the key. The bed was not comfortable at all. The apartment is also very noisy. Only positive aspect is the parking which is in front of the house and it's free. Two stars only for the parking.
This neighbourhood has it all. My room was enough for one person, the shared kitchen is pretty well equipped. I don’t go to Coimbra, I stay in Santa Clara where they have Tasquinha d’Irene, the old and new monastery and of course the Barbie Museum right across the hotel.
For one thing you'll never get the apartment that is pictured in the listing. They will always put you in a different room, or even a different building. There is very little love or care put into the accommodation. It is just a holding cell until the next day. The only reason people go here is because it is the cheapest place in Coimbra on the short-term. You basically get what you pay for. Beware the bug spray that is constantly being sprayed in the air, wear some sort of mask so you don't breathe in the poison.
