Solar Antigo Luxury Coimbra

The best hotel stay ever! The rooms were clean and the staff were so kind. I loved the hot tub in the middle of the room (the hot tub worked great, had various settings for the water pressure, and even played music!). The location is also perfect (walking distant to the main touristy locations and fado centers in Coimbra). Parking wasn’t that hard and the breakfast was tasty. I 100% recommend that you stay here during your next stay in Coimbra!

I stayed here for two nights. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this hotel. Breakfast is served in the room, but there is no table or chairs, which makes it uncomfortable. In the bathroom, there is no space to place personal toiletries. The Wi-Fi was slow and frequently disconnected. The towels were very good, and bathrobes and slippers are provided. The room was clean. Breakfast is basic but acceptable. The staff are kind and polite; however, it is disappointing that the jacuzzi takes up a large amount of space in the room and, overall, the room is not worth the price I paid.

We recently stayed at the Solar Antigo and were very pleased with the overall experience. Although we encountered a few issues during our stay—matters that were outside the hotel’s control—the management handled them with professionalism and great care. The service throughout was exceptional; the front desk team, in particular, went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. The hotel itself is beautiful, with well-appointed rooms offering lovely views and exceptionally comfortable bedding. All staff members were courteous, attentive, and highly trained, bringing a personable approach that reflects very well on the establishment. Breakfast was light yet sufficient, and the atmosphere remained pleasant and welcoming. Overall, a truly enjoyable stay, made memorable by outstanding customer service. We extend our sincere thanks to the entire team.

This hotel was a huge letdown. I don’t know how Google calculates its hotel stars, but this should be a 1, NOT 4.5. It does not reflect its ratings or description. Don’t stay here. -- Disliked This hotel is terrible. It does not reflect what the photos look like or how it’s described. The photos do not do justice to how terrible it is. They look nice — if a bit kitschy — but in reality it’s extremely tacky and cheap. They have cheap glitter on furniture, so I don’t want to sit on it and get glitter on my clothing and luggage. Our door did not close at all (let alone lock) and the staff said that it was “fine” because nobody else was staying on our floor. And worst of all, the toilet is right beside the bed, with no privacy when using it — it’s an open-air toilet; there is no door to the toilet, which is housed inside glass walls that is visible to the entire room. -- Liked Literally nothing. Solar Antigo Luxury Coimbra was a huge disappointment, and a lowlight of our roadtrip across Portugal. We’re not needy guests, but this place was clearly a scam. Fake reviews and ratings to trick travelers into believing it’s a kitschy jacuzzi hotel. In reality it’s a dirty, smelly, glitter-laden scam where you can’t even use the bathroom in privacy. Do yourself a favor and just stay elsewhere. Let’s all hope scam hotels like this die.

Jacuzzi was the highlight! After days of walking up and down the hills, I couldn't get out of the jacuzzi because it was so relaxing. We had to check out early in the morning so the lady at the front desk prepared some sandwiches, water and drinks for us to take on our early morning hike. Lots of restaurants and bars just down the hotel. They had good recommendations too. Room was cool and clean. Parking was very easy too!
