Do not book this hotel. It’s a scam. I came for a wedding, booked this hotel through an Odisseias pack where it classified it as a 4*- For comparison, Vila Galé (which is closeby) is also 4*. Imagine my surprise when these are the conditions of my room. Breakfast room is THE lobby itself, the variety of food is “anything canned + some pastries”, not at the standard of a 4* hotel. The elevator is also very old and overall not at the standard that it should be. The reason by which the rooms have a closed balcony is because the owner obviously wanted to give it a modern outside look, sacrificing the actual conditions of the bedrooms. The windows of the closed space barely open. Also, some of the employees were nice ofc, but genuinely not to the standard of a 4* once again. Some of the people were snarky while fulfilling basic requests that would be normal within ANY establishment that claims to be to this standard. Rooms don’t get cleaned daily. Mini fridge was disconnected and barely even worked. The bed was comfortable and overall ok. I’ll be filing an actual complaint to the portuguese authorities.
Please pardon my American attitude. After staying a week in 2 other hotels, this place was an American Hotel 6. If you are an American tourist staying in the amazing country of Portugal, I'd recommend a better hotel. That is IF there are better hotels in Coimbra. I would like to thank one of the staff members for running out to the store to get a bag of lemons for one of our travelers. Above and beyond.
While the room itself was standard, I must highlight a safety hazard in the bathroom. The bathtub is dangerously slippery, and the safety grab bar is not properly attached, rendering it useless. I have attached a photo as evidence.

This hotel is old, dirty, they show pictures that are not in the zona they are. The bathroom has mold.
