This was a beautiful old house at one point and it’s been turned into a very nice boutique Hotel complete with a morning breakfast if you want to add it on. My room was very comfortable and clean and it had everything I really needed. There could’ve been a little bit more convenient Phone charging outlets, but I made do. This hotel is also very conveniently located to the hub of the university with all the restaurants, shops, and of course, the university itself to explore.. I particularly liked the little breakfast room the next morning, as it was very sunny and pleasant with a view of Coimbra , including the prison that everyone thinks is a church. The breakfast itself was delicious as well as the coffee which was most welcomed early in the morning. The staff was very pleasant and helpful, especially Tony. Thanks for a nice stay.
Dirty Room (mold, stains and insects), Reception not available (Internet states reception is open: Opening hours: 7:30 am to 10:30 pm but no-one was there after 8 pm and no staff present at location during the night). We left the same evening without spending the night. But 10 minutes after checkin around 8pm the reception staff had already left. The hotel did not even bother apologizing or replying to our emails. I do not like writing reviews like this but it was all the opposite of good service.
we enjoyed our visit, rooms were spacious, clean bathrooms, nice breakfast on the terrace. Really enjoyed that this is an old villa under great management Advise: if you arrived at the bus station - call uber to get to the hotel (appx 3€) - because the hotel is on the hill
We just stayed here one day with my two kids and night time was too noise until 01.00 am. There were no facilities in the room such as slippers and a kettle. We stayed in the roof top and it cannot be said that it was comfortable. The employees looked fed up, tired and unhappy. I don’t know why😅 and The only good thing about breakfast was the croissant The coffee was the worst I've ever had. I think he ran out of coffee. Employees tried to fill up coffee but they could not succeed loooonnggg time 😅
Excellent location but that is it ! Bathroom toilet door could not close and therefore no privacy. Shower leaked all over the floor - not of the bathroom but everywhere. Blinds did not work. No housekeeping to clean the room (we were there for 4 nights). No door knobs to be able to open and use the cupboards - can go on. Sadly very disappointing.
