Had a lovely one night stay at this hotel. The room was very comfortable, shower pressure was amazing. The hotel was just a short walk from the metro and a good base to explore the city. Part of the welcome is a welcome drink at one of their sister hotels around the corner. The drink was delicious! The staff were extremely accommodating and very kind. Would definitely stay here again.
Fabulous location. I have to say our bathroom was very awkward. You had to open the bathroom door to get out of the shower. It is a boutique hotel so it met my expectations in that respect. People weee nice. Welcome cocktail was at another Browns around the corner.
For location alone Brown's Downtown is an excellent option for your Lisbon stay. In the heart of Baixa it's easy to walk or access public transportation to any of Lisbon's main tourist destinations. The entire hotel has a chic atmosphere to it and the front desk was staffed 24/7 for support. WiFi was strong and reliable and the rooms included all of the amenities needed to be comfortable, including both coffee and tea and a complimentary bottle of wine! I don't know if other hotels have this too, but what was a very nice touch in my opinion was the free filtered water cooler in the lobby, which was extremely helpful to have as a tourist and not have to buy plastic bottles multiple times per day. We stayed in one of the suites - it was spacious and clean, and we loved the neighborhood & castle view! Our room had a music system and a Mac, both of which were completely unnecessary for us and we would have happily traded for more bottles of water or space in the bathroom. Some minor notes against the hotel are: the suite and bathroom ceilings were quite low, so if you're very tall (>6') you will have a hard time showering. The air conditioning unit was a necessary touch but unfortunately not strong enough to keep the entire suite cool. And the suite is on the 6th floor while the elevator only goes to the 5th floor, so it is not accessible for those with disabilities but more importantly they did not disclose this information until check in.
The hotel has a lovely aesthetic, but it lacks practicality. The location is very central, and the service was nice. I adore every decoration in the lobby and the room, even the room's fragrance was nice when I enter the room. However, beauty alone doesn't suffice. Firstly, the room key is not a card key, which takes up space in your bag and feels somewhat tacky and inconvenient to carry. The most disappointing aspect of this hotel is the poor soundproofing between rooms. I could hear every footstep of the person staying above me. The room itself is quite small, lacking sufficient space for two with suitcases. Additionally, a Marshall speaker was not working, and the pastel de nata provided as a welcome gift was soggy. Perhaps it would be better not to provide them at all 😅. Lastly, the shower booth is very small, and water kept leaking from the rain shower head which was very annoying when I just wanted to quickly wash my feet. While I was initially impressed with the hotel's design, the longer I stayed, the more issues I discovered. It's unfortunate.
Great location, close to multiple transport links taking you everywhere in Lisbon. Lovely building, rooms decorated tastefully and comfortably. 24h service at the main desk. Friendly and helpful staff speaking good English. Comfy bed, aircon and shower of very good standard. Hair dryer, Bluetooth speaker and iron&ironing board in the room too! Highly recommended.
