My wife and I stayed at this hotel and our experience was excellent. From the very first moment, all the staff were extremely welcoming and made us feel truly at home. The rooms were spotlessly clean, with thorough daily housekeeping. After each cleaning, they would leave us a different complimentary treat, a very thoughtful touch that we were always happy to find when returning to the room. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and offered an absolutely stunning view. If I had to mention one negative point, it would be the 96 steps you need to climb, as the hotel is housed in a beautiful old historic building where installing an elevator is not possible. That said, the overall experience was so positive that this small inconvenience fades into the background. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would gladly stay here again.

Great place to stay. And best hotel we’ve ever stayed at. Everyone is friendly and helpful. There are treats each night and suggested places to visit each morning on your door. It is clean and modern. Great breakfast in morning and afternoon snacks. The bed is the most comfortable I’ve been in. But the staff make the visit. They are attentive and friendly. The location is fantastic. Great terrace views and centrally located. We’ll be back.

Very nice breakfast, very silent room, great location!! Dont miss the museum of archeology in front of the house and some of the bars on the little square for a night cap of glass of porto wine. Well the 4th floor without a lift is quite a workout :)) but the location is priceless. Oh and the hot water took some time to reach our bathroom, which is understandable since it was 5th floor.

The staff at this hotel were truly nice, kind, and very helpful throughout my stay. I stayed in Garrett room and the view overlooking São Jorge Castle was also beautiful. Breakfast was good as well, though I do wish it started earlier than 8:30am, especially for guests with early plans. However, I can’t justify why this is a 4-star hotel considering its age, lack of upgrades, and significant noise issues. Every time you run the sink even briefly, flush the toilet, or take a shower, a very loud vibrating pump turns on. We could hear and feel it not only in our room but from the surrounding rooms as well. It took a long time for hot water to run and shower pressure was low. The Wi-Fi was slow throughout the stay, and on my last day it stopped working entirely. Staff are only available during daytime hours, so there was no one to assist. The linens and furniture are very basic (IKEA) and quite old. Some things, like the closet shelf, were loose and needed repair. The bathroom also had ventilation issues due to the age of the building, and the sliding door was sticky. I booked knowing the building was old, and overall it was a good one time experience, but I would not be returning. I still can’t fully understand the overwhelmingly positive reviews. Future travelers should be aware of these issues so they know what to expect. The staff and views are lovely, but the property needs significant updates to match its pricing and ratings.

We enjoyed our stay! The staff was absolutely amazing- so welcoming and attentive. Each day when we got back to our room there was a little treat on our bed- brownies, wine etc. which was such a cute touch. The location is fantastic- everything you need is within walking distance! I will mention if you’re coming from the airport and have luggage, prepare yourself for the stairs. The hotel is on the 4th floor- which makes for a great view, but tired legs! The breakfast is really good- they make the scrambled eggs fresh for you as you come down, rather than having them sitting out which is great! 5/5- would absolutely stay here again, if we’re ever back in Lisbon!
