This is an illegal hostel. The company has no licence to operate in the building and the police has been called several times. When it happens, guests looose their money and can no longer access their beds and belongins. This is a scheme. Beware and do not make a reservation. I am no such thing as a competitor. I am the building administrator. If you have any doubts, do ask the hostel managers and/or the flat owners to show you the hostel licence issued by the Town Hall. There is no licence and there is no compulsory hostel insurance. The activity cannot be insured because it is illegal. It is really simple: just ask for the license, the insurance and, above all, the building council's approval. According to Portuguese law, besides the municipality licence you need the building's approval for running a hostel. They have neither
