Hotel Gat Rossio

My mom and I stayed here for 5 nights in August 2025 and we really enjoyed it! The entrance was a bit hard to find because it is just a single door with not a huge sign. We arrived and there was a power outage due to construction and they were very nice and accommodating with us- very grateful for that! It is in a nice central location close to restaurants, things to do, and near the subway station.

Check in was painless. Receptionist was so lovely. I was early and she took my bag so I could go explore. Clean rooms which had a modern vibe (except shower). Safe. Labelled buttons above bed so you know what you're switching on/off. It was quiet apart from the evening I checked in. It sounded like teenagers running around squealing however I never heard anything thereafter. Situated near to tourist sites. Not as cheap as other cities but compared to the others hotels, the cost was lower. Fair options for breakfast. Staff were great. No regrets.

Really loved staying at this hotel. It was right in the middle of everything. Everyone who worked there was very nice. Helped with everything we needed. If you arrive before check-in, they will store your bag safely for you. There is no mini fridge or microwave so extended stays that can get a little tricky for water and no leftovers. But other than that, everything else was perfect. Would highly recommend for a short stay. I also loved the look of the hotel, it was very charming.

We stayed here 2x during our 10 day trip to Portugal. Hotel is the things it should be: clean, safe, great location, and friendly professional staff. The bad reviews you see on this hotel are comparing this to a 5 star hotel experience with 5 star amenities as if Gat Rossio claims to be a luxury hotel. The room was not plentiful in space, but that’s not an issue for us as we just used it to sleep and shower. We had more than enough space for 2 people for our luggage to be laid out and open, get ready, and relax. For the noise people mention, this hotel is on a side street with restaurants. The street is emptied and quiet around 11. We had a street facing room and were able to sleep well when we went to bed before closing time. If you are an early to bed person who doesn’t do noise well, maybe this isn’t the place for you. But the location outweighs any noise in my opinion. This is a great landing pad for travelers who don’t spend a lot of time in their rooms but want to have a safe and central place to stay. They also have a lovely patio on the 1st floor where you can enjoy a night cap or a morning coffee. We have nothing bad to say about this hotel!

Excellent! No complaints about this hotel. Clean rooms, although small, it had what we needed for our 3 nights stay. Location was perfect. Close to the Met, train station and local restaurants close by. The hotel staff were amazing and went above and beyond to help us. The 3 of us were running the Lisbon marathon (10k and half marathon) on the Sunday and we needed to collect our bib numbers before 6pm on the Saturday. Unfortunately due to traffic congestion (a Pallastine protest) that day and failed Uber cabs arriving, it was after the deadline time to collect the bibs. However, Ramiro (unsure of his name) and Erika helped us. They spotted within our email from the race organisers that Decathlon closed at 10pm! They ordered a cab for us to get there and within 30 mins we got there! Still queues for the bibs but we got them...only just! If it wasn't for the hotel staff we wouldn't have been able to run the race without collecting the bibs. We came all the way from Manchester UK and it was well worth it 👌🏾 the race was great and our stay in Lisbon brilliant. Lovely city ❤️ Highly recommend Hotel Gat Rossio. Thanks again R and Erika xx
