Hotel Metropole

I spent 6 nights here and was wonderfully surprised by the standard despite it being listed as 3 star. Plusses:- spacious room & bathroom, air conditioning, bar fridge, storage, armchairs, dining room, breakfast choices, cleaning & wait staff, location, reception staff, room serviced each day, towels changed daily, comfortable bed, wifi connection Be mindful of:- entrance has a flight of stairs to navigate with luggage before you can access the lift, need to step into a high bath to access shower, no handrails or antislip mats, location is very central so do expect some traffic/delivery/emergency services/pedestrian noise (the levels did not disturb my sleep). Suggestions: signage in entry and lift indicating location of reception, improve the room door lock/ security, provide a functioning room safe. I was very happy with the hotel and would gladly stay here again. Its location is fabulous.

I recently stayed at the Hotel Metropole in Lisbon and was thoroughly impressed by its central location. It made exploring the city incredibly convenient. The hotel exudes a charming retro style that adds a unique touch to the experience. My room was spacious and comfortable, providing a great place to relax after a day of sightseeing. I left the hotel yesterday, and I already miss its wonderful ambiance.

I stayed at Hotel Metropole for a work-related visit. The location is excellent. Sure, it's close to tourist attractions, but also close to numerous transportation options: taxi, Uber, bus, trams, underground metro, train station to go outside the city. These are all within a few blocks. Breakfast starting at 7:30 AM, is simple with plenty of options, very good coffee. Staff spoke very good English. My room was large, included a lot of storage for clothing and my suitcase, was cleaned daily. WiFi speeds are the best I've ever had for business travel (~300 MB download). Air conditioning worked well. I'd easily stay here again for personal or business. Rooms facing the plaza on lower floors might be louder at night. Mine faced the opposite direction and suited down by 11:00 PM.

Stayed here in Oct 2023. Great location for exploring the central of Lisbon. The staff were great; always available. The entrance is directly off the sidewalk by restaurants and then an elevator to the lobby. Quaint place. Good breakfast. Ideal for our needs

This hotel is perfect for a stay in Lisbon if you don’t want to be in a corporate hotel. Just renovated but keeping original Art Deco style . It is in Rossio Square and very near public transport - metro, bus and tram. Perfect central location. The staff are friendly and very helpful, the breakfast is healthy and tasty and our room was large and overlooked the square. Very good value for money.
