Ignore the negative reviews, and if you're looking for something fancy, go elsewhere. This is a small business with an unusual entrance through a giftshop and up a somewhat narrow stairway--it's Portugal after all. The place was clean, the bathroom just fine and the kitchen and dining area well set up and in far better shape than most such kitchens. Yes, the rooms are small. Excellent location and our host was kind and helpful.

I would suggest to avoid this "hotel". The (red) room wasn't that clean(but wasn't the cleaning lady's fault but the owners does not renovate the place). The walls was dirty and the Fan of the bathroom was completely blocked by fluff and Dust. Also there was lack of hot water at night. The most important although was that there was no soundproofing. I could literally hear the next room voices and the steps. Also on the 2nd floor there is a hostel that they make noises all the time and u can here the steps at night. If u like a hostel with private bathroom its a good choice but not for 100 euros/ night. The man that welcomes us was very kind and pleasant, although the experiance wasn't good.

If you are looking for a central hotel, clean, safe and appropriate for family vacation, do not book. Me and my husband booked a room and when we arrived, we realised that we were totally scammed by the pictures they had posted. The place on the pictures looks small but clean- IT is NOT. It is not clean, the toilet flush was running non stop, the ceiling had a freshly patched square that was not even painted and the bed-head was scratched. The sheets were clean. The experience of having to walk through a shop on the ground floor and then climbing the stairs was not good for us- we had suitcases and it only gets worst. When we checked-in, we got in the room, and instantly booked somewhere else. We then contacted them asking for a refund -because of the completely misleading pictures on their website- and the “hotel” declared that we did not show up at all. Luckily, we a picture for proof. So unless you don’t really care about the condition of the place, stay away from this place.

Do not book this place. The rooms are not as clean as they look in the pictures and when we arrived the toilet flash was running non stop and making a lot of noise. They had a massive patch of plasterboard on the ceiling and it wasn't even painted. They are in city centre but it doesn't worth it to stay there. We checked in and we got completely disappointed when we went in the room and we instantly booked another hotel. Afterwards, the hotel just marked us as a no show, to avoid refunding us as they should.
