Safestay Lisbon Bairro Alto

My friend and I stayed there for 1 night and it was really nice. The location is good, the room was light and clean, with pretty views from the windows. We could drop our luggage before the check in amd after the check out, which was very convenient. The showers&bathrooms are not individual for rooms (dorm type) but that wasn't bad still.

If you’re looking for the cheapest place to stay in Lisbon, this will do the job. Just don’t expect much from the facilities. Pros- location, super close to the restauradores & central train station, and a short walk to major attractions. Staff was super friendly and helpful Showers had instant hot water Security- the rooms have lockers and require a key card to access. Cons- Not very clean, bathrooms did not have toilet paper many times. The locker is small and the door opens vertically, so to access your things you have get low to the ground and use one hand to keep the door open. The beds wobble, so any movement from the person on your bunk will wake. There are no privacy curtains. Kitchen had very few pans, most without handles. Stove does not work very well. One fridge had a bad smell.

We only stayed for one night, but everything was really nice! There was someone at the reception 24/7, which made us feel secure. The toilets and bathrooms weren’t the cleanest, but it’s a hostel, and the price was very fair! The only downside: you could hear everything through the doors - so during the night it was quite loud. :))

I think this is a decent hostel but not worth the price compared to what you can pay for other hostels in Lisbon where you can get something nicer with a better free breakfast! It felt like a clean place and my room had a cute view. But the beds did not have privacy curtains. The breakfast wasn’t great. Also, I got woken up by a staff member coming into our room around 2am with a flashlights to check the numbers on the bed after some girls had come into our room seemingly confused about where they were supposed to sleep 🤷🏼‍♀️

It’s beautiful and smells clean. The localisation is a 10/10, very centric. The inconvenient are the stairs and the rooms. The beds don’t have stairs, so it’s tricky to climb up. They are a bit small and don’t have any chairs or table to put up your stuff but still, they are nice. The cleaning of the dinning room could be better but that depends on people and their manners. People though , are really nice and friendly and we’ve received a very kind treat from the hostal keepers
