The people who work here, as well as the guests we stayed with, are great. I have had some beautiful talks with Katalina at Reception about life, Camino de Santiago, and faith. She has a truly beautiful soul; I know you are going to spread happiness and luck all your life. 🥰 The other girls are work here were amazing too, always polite, laughing, and happy to chat and help; I felt like home. On our last night, we asked if it was possible for us to eat earlier because we had an early flight, and they made us a lunch box to take with. 🥰 We stayed for three nights, and the breakfast was good and plentiful. For this price and service, it's not possible to find any other place in Lisbon. It is quiet to sleep in, and the beds are comfy, even though you are in the city center. The Mirador of St. Katharina is one minute from the place; a must-see at sunset! :)
Our stay at this property on August 2025 was a nightmare. Upon check-in, we found multiple cockroaches in our room. Given my partner’s pregnancy, staying in such unhygienic conditions was impossible. The owner initially promised us a full refund via WhatsApp if we left. However, this turned out to be a deceptive tactic. Once we left the hostel, as agreed, he stopped responding to messages. He refused to provide a fiscal invoice, even when contacted by Booking.com assistance, effectively preventing us from filing an official complaint to the authorities. Furrhermore, the management marked our reservation as a "No-Show" to Booking.com, despite us having already checked in. This was clearly done to prevent us from leaving a verified review and to resell the infested room immediately. We only recovered our money months later through a bank chargeback. This establishment is managed dishonestly and lacks basic sanitary standards. Don't waist your money ;)
We recently stayed at The LX Hill Hostel. Unfortunately, our stay did not meet the expectations one may reasonably have of a guest accommodation. Upon arrival, we were met with a room that had a strong, damp odor. It soon became apparent that there was also a serious hygiene issue, as cockroaches were present throughout the room. This was not only extremely unpleasant, but also unacceptable from a health and safety perspective. We immediately reported this situation to the staff member on duty as well as to the manager, who acknowledged that this was unacceptable and assured us that we would receive a refund. However, to this day, we have not received the promised reimbursement. Regrettably, this experience has had a very negative impact on our stay in Lisbon.
The location was very central and convenient. Our room was spacious enough and had a peaceful atmosphere. Breakfast was also quite good for the price. Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay and would definitely recommend it.
Well, it's a hostel, but in some aspects it exceeded my expectations. The facilities are what you see in the photos. The breakfast is quite complete if you know how to put it together (coffee, tea, yogurt, granola, juices, slices of bread, cheeses, hams, jam, cream cakes, and fruit). The reception staff are very attentive. It's true that they don't speak any Spanish or Portuguese, but with basic English you can communicate with them. I stayed in room 4 on the ground floor. The bathroom is very small, especially the shower (I'm 1.75m tall and weigh 96kg; anyone over this size will have trouble showering). The pipes stink of sewage; just taking a shower intensifies the smell, and on my last morning I found and had to kill a large cockroach in the room. Despite the negative reviews and experiences I've had, they are related to the room I was assigned. I may return as long as I'm assigned another room.
