1 / 5 Unfortunately, the stay did not meet expectations. The bed linen was not prepared, the sheets were shorter than the mattress and had an unpleasant smell; moreover, they were gray rather than white. The beds are very low, giving the feeling of sleeping on the floor, which is uncomfortable, and you can feel the cold coming from the floor. The room has no air conditioning, making the environment uncomfortable. The Wi-Fi does not work in the room, and the mobile network signal is weak because the beds are located deep within the building. Additionally, light from the corridor enters the room, and at night, when people pass by, the room light turns on automatically, making it difficult to sleep. Another point to mention: although check-out is stated as until 11:00, we were asked to leave at 10:00, as they needed to collect the bedding for laundry. These aspects affected the overall comfort of the stay.
1 / 5 I booked a room for one night on October 1st and cancelled it within the free cancellation period, for which Booking.com sent me a free cancellation notification. However, I was charged that same day and only discovered the issue when I received my credit card statement. I have since sent them three emails but have received neither a refund nor any response. Their lack of response and refund is shocking and completely disregards relevant regulations; Booking.com also received my emails but offered no assistance. I am truly disappointed and angry about this.
1 / 5 The ladies that own this hostel will serve groups of drunken Spaniards with trumpets at 6:00 in the bar downstairs!! They did not even try to silent them down. If you value your sleep choose a different hostel. Also, the bathrooms stink pretty badly.
5 / 5 We stopped here for a coffee and some food before starting the Camino and the women behind the bar were fabulous. Very friendly, hard-working and helpful. They helped us arrange a taxi when we were having trouble finding one. The coffee was delicious. The tortilla Española wasn’t the best though. The bathroom was big and clean and the fresh cut flowers were a sweet touch. This was a good start to our day.
3 / 5 The service for the albergue was excellent, Jacqueline was very accommodating and friendly. However, the service from the restaurant was disappointing. It would be nice if her employees could follow her very good manners and show of respect for the guests.
Athough they work hard, they can also achieve that with a smile.
I have increased the rating to three stars, but only due to Jacqueline’s efforts to make amends.
