Absolutely loved this place for our final night before finishing the Camino with my sister! The room was clean and well maintained for the Spanish style of the property. It felt as if we were staying at our Grandparent's house back home, stunning place! The staff were incredibly friendly and it was a great stop over to rest from a very long day of walking. The waitress that served us had the most pleasant energy around her 💛 Highly recommend!
Our room was charming , wonderful though it was not expected or easy to carry our luggage up 34 steps! The property is beautiful with a goldfish pond, there is a pool but we were there later in Oct. My biggest complaint was the woman at the front desk Oct 20 afternoon and the next morning. I asked a question about the menu with the checkmarks and she answered twice in Spanish though obviously aware we weren’t understanding her. I know some Spanish and used a translation app to clarify. She made no effort at all. Just kept talking. In the morning they have the tables pre-set , we tried in English and Spanish to tell her our 4th person was placed in a room in the adjacent building. She kept repeating ‘no, you sit 3 of you and 1 alone!’ I understood they arranged tables by reservations (and my sister added on to our group later) but she made no effort to be flexible! (She could have easily moved my sister to our table but refused) there were 5 slices of ham, and 5 of cheese per 3 of us and a roll each. 3 small muffins and every banana I saw on all the tables were green. Everyone left them. Worst coffee I tasted in the 2 weeks of The Camino. I took a sip, and left breakfast . The whole experience was very upsetting . *Also, anyone staying here be aware you need to walk an extra mile to get on The Camino. It is a long last day yet, this was our only accommodation that would not serve breakfast until 8 AM ! (We usually left at 7:30 on long days) Need improvement ! Your staff member is rude and displayed ‘a definite lack of willingness to communicate’ she should try an app rather than just repeating herself to someone who obviously isn’t understanding her. I took a role in the interaction, but to no avail. We were just sorry we had bothered to stay for breakfast, we should have left early and had something better on the road.
Set in a beautiful and peaceful semi-rural area with lovely gardens, fish pond and swimming pool. There are no lifts so be prepared to carry your luggage up a few flights of stairs. There are no other hotels or restaurants around but Padrón is a 20 min walk away or take a taxi, if you've walked enough for the day.
Hotel establishment is nice and lovely furnished, garden and pool very nice, but the whole service is totaly disappointing. My agency booked it for me as part of my Camino walk and due to very bad/not very intelligent instruction /to get to Casa Antiga you have to turn -250 metar before Church of Santiago?????!!!/, was not possible to reach it easly after long walk. Hotel is more than 2km out of Padrone, not convenient for very tired pelegrinos. Staff does not speak any other language, Spanish only. They are not helpful at all. I asked for dinner on reception and lady show me to sit. I was sitting half and hour and waitress did not address me at all. On my question about situation with my dinner, waitress was not understand what I am talking about. It is obvious that nice establishment with full facility is not enough. Staff has to be helpfull
Great hotel. The rooms are very nice and clean. The service is very good and the staff is very attentive to our needs. The food at dinner is very good and delicious!
