Poor service provided overall by the lady in reception in the morning. Toilet had electrical sockets that were broken with wiring that could be seen. Room was clean, however it smell of humidity and bed was very hard and uncomfertible. There was noise from room next door that prevented us from sleeping until early hours of the morning. Positive is the guy that deal with my check in online seemed a nice person
Very friendly and welcoming staff, a nice ambiance, amazing garden. Also very nice location in a quiet street. All was very spacious and beautiful. Unfortunately sleeping was a total pain. All trough the night there would be guests from other rooms using the bathroom that was attached to the dorm where I was sleeping and when opening the bathroom light, it shined brightly into the dorm because of a large window, plus the bathroom had an an extremely loud fan. So several times at night there was an intense noise and bright light in the dorm. I found it absolutely horrible, and it could easily be changed.. would not recommend for sleeping
Nice clean hostel with friendly staff. Has two kitchens fully equipped and has a great garden to unwind in. Not in the center of Porto but a small walk or metro ride will get you to the center. Surrounded by many restaurants and supermarkets.
I stayed at By Doors Hostel Porto for few nights last June and I had a great experience. The hostel has a nice location, clean facilities and I comfy big yard. What especially made my stay worthy was the warm welcome I received from the hostel staff. We had amazing Brazilian barbeque party at the hostel yard with the owners, the staff and other guests. I felt I was approached as a part of the family. I have nothing bad to say about my stay at By Doors Hostel Porto. A warm recommendation for anyone!
All bad from start to finish. The service is terrible!! The bedroom and bathroom have black ceilings from so much humidity and infiltrations that exist in the premises. The room smells of dampness, it's impossible to be inside without the windows open!! In the bathroom, water fell from the ceiling, from the WC above, disgusting. During the night, the bathroom was flooded even if we didn't use it! When we complained, we asked to change rooms and were told it was impossible. They were not at all concerned about resolving any of the situations. Room and bathroom were not cleaned. The bed mattress is old, crooked, impossible to sleep, and the bed has no clothes! It has a sheet under it and a blanket over it. For breakfast (included) we asked for water and we were told to drink it from the tap! The products are not fresh, everything is packaged and of poor quality, which is not understandable because there are excellent pastries nearby! It reveals a lack of quality, interest and effort on the part of the accommodation. They didn't refund us the money for the nights we hadn't used or changed our room. They didn't solve anything and didn't want to know anything. We were forced to stay here, which jeopardized our HEALTH, our DIGNITY and our MORAL VALUES. This is an establishment that is not able to receive people.
