This property is beautiful, complemented by an incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Conveniently situated near Porto City Hall and just a short walk from the renowned 'most beautiful McDonald's' in the world, its location is a major highlight. We stayed in a suite with a view of City Hall. The room was spacious, elegantly designed, and provided a luxurious experience. Although construction for the new subway line was ongoing during our visit, leading to some congestion during peak hours and limited access to certain parts of the square, it didn’t significantly impact our stay thanks to the hotel’s prime location. The area is surrounded by charming attractions, with easy access to a variety of excellent restaurants and vibrant bars. This is a place we’ll undoubtedly return to
Central location, top notch personalized service, and lovely, pristinely clean rooms. Beautiful former palace and bank turned into a hotel. Enjoyed every minute of our stay and received a late check out of 2 pm. Everything was walkable, and the concierge was helpful with directions and ride share information. Special call out to João Maria, Beatriz, and Gabriel for making our stay enjoyable!
We recently stayed at the InterContinental Porto - Palácio das Cardosas, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience that truly elevated our first trip to Porto. The hotel was immaculately clean, and the staff were incredibly supportive and attentive. A special mention goes to the concierge team, who acted like personal assistants throughout our stay. They organized a fantastic winery tour and secured a reservation at the Bomfim 1896 restaurant, which became one of the highlights of our trip. Their coordination while I was driving ensured every arrangement and booking was seamless. The valet and parking service was flawless, even with the heavy construction and traffic around Praça da Liberdade. The team always kept a temporary parking spot available and promptly retrieved the car when needed, making the process stress-free. Upon check-in, we initially discovered that the suite we had booked faced the noisy construction site. After our long 4–5-hour drive, this was disappointing. However, within 15 minutes, the front desk team resolved this by offering us a quieter room that still met our need to be near our children’s suite. They even adjusted the price, which we greatly appreciated. The gym and sauna were excellent, and I loved that the sauna was available at 5 AM, perfectly fitting into my daily routine. While the breakfast buffet could use slight improvement, it didn’t overshadow the overall experience. I highly recommend this hotel for its outstanding hospitality and attention to detail. Despite the temporary inconvenience of nearby construction, the staff ensured our stay was as smooth and comfortable as possible. Thank you, InterContinental Porto, for making our first trip to Porto unforgettable. We look forward to returning in the future!
Great location (though construction around it). Rooms good but common areas small and lack seating. Bar was good. Didn’t eat at restaurant— seemed very overpriced compared to the cheap great dining options all around hotel Staff helpful.
The hotel was in the best location in town. The rooms were great. But the breakfast was not as good as expected - average, not many healthy options, slow service, and too crowded.
