A good value for money hotel, located uphill from Soa Bento railway station which may be an issue if you have heavy luggage, the staff all speak good English. The rooms are standard with bed, bathroom with shower and coffee making facilities. You can add breakfast when you book your stay or add breakfast daily for €15. The buffet style breakfast has hot and cold food and has enough variety to please everyone. There is a small bar next to the reception area and was not expensive. There are plenty of shops and restaurants close by and the city centre about a 20 minute walk. The Douro river views are also about 20 minutes walk.
Very nice hotel in the historic center. Nothing fancy but clean and adequate. I’d stay again. On Sunday, there was a fun street market across the street. Lots of restaurants nearby. Only a short walk to the bridge across the river to the best spot for the sunset.
The location is good and the breakfast was nice but the room is very dark only 2 table lamps in the room and the walls are very thin super noisy at night; you can hear people moving furnitures and even talking at the next room. Bed n pillows are not good as well! We haven’t had a good sleep at this hotel! Quite disappointed!
We stay for 7 days. The staff front desk and breakfast were terribly unfriendly and unwelcoming. They need training in customer service. The room was not like the photo's online. They are dated. Dark poorly lit. Filthy. Our drapes were black on the bottom with mold. Our bathroom had black mold around the tiles. I am writing to corporate as well. This place needs to shut down to reinvent it. Breakfast is in the cold basement so not very warm. Not a good value when you can go across the street and have a nice breakfast for half the amount. The only plus is location. But we won't stay here again. Not friendly at all.
Location location location. Pretty basic, but clean and quit comfortable. Breakfast is good. Only one pepper and salt shaker for the whole breakfast is strange, but the rest is perfect. The shower was good, except the 'low' shower was defective. The best about the hotel is the location. Awesome!
