2 / 5 While the hostel has its good points, it also has significant negatives. The bed was absolutely very uncomfortable, and the rooms have no ventilation or a window that opens to the outside. You can easily hear the conversations from the reception in your room. On my first night, I couldn't sleep due to itching on my leg, although I didn't see any bed bugs in the bed. It was possible to spend quiet time in the seating and garden area downstairs. Other than that, it was a bit of a disappointment for me.
5 / 5 Very cozy and quiet. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. I was doing the Camino Portuguese so they were a huge help and a fountain of knowledge. The garden was so peaceful and tranquil, perfect for reading. 10/10 Experience :)
4 / 5 It's a quiet place. People don't interact too much, but it's okay because I only used it to sleep.
A bit of a walk to the city center, but still has metro nearby. Perfectly functional, but I think you can get better, cheaper options closer to the city if you're a tourist.
1 / 5 The hostel is nice enough, the rooms were clean and the common area was comfortable. However, I was so shocked to find out on the day of checkout that I would only be allowed to leave my bags for a few hours and was not allowed to sit in the common area until the time of my flight that evening. I have never encountered policies like this at any hotel or hostel I have stayed at. So if you’re planning to stay here just make sure you have your outward trip booked around the time of checkout or be prepared to lug your suitcases or backpacks around for the rest of the day.
1 / 5 While this is a gorgeous hostel with a great kitchen, bathrooms, and lovely back garden, it has BED BUGS.
On my first night there within an hour of getting into bed I saw multiple bed bugs on my sheets, pillow, and on the walls. Immediately I alerted reception who was kind enough to move myself and another into a different room and provide garbage bags for clothing that might be contaminated. In the morning the hostel owner vehemently denied having bed bugs and tried to tell me I did not see them. Another guest also saw them. However, to the hostel owner's credit she did afterward strip the room and clean it well. But new guests were in that room within 24hrs. One hopes the deep clean was good enough.
I sustained multiple bites even in the other room and my clothing was certainly contaminated. I originally booked a four person female room and was then placed in a mixed eight person room, no mention of compensation for price difference or helping to cover laundry costs. And truthfully trying to fight for it with the hostel owner did not seem worth the ~10 euros.
If no bed bugs, a great hostel.
Also note the reviews about bed bugs from a month or two prior.
