I stayed here a couple of weekends ago for a trip with some of my friends while we're studying in Madrid for Erasmus. The facilities of this hostel blew me away, aswell as the bar and reception being open 24/7, and the incredible staff who just wanted to provide good service, hang out and meet new people just like we did (shoutout to Nacho). For anyone wanting to stay in the heart of Porto for a good price and to meet new friends, this is the place for you.
Staff was super friendly, but that is the positives. When we arrived to the hostel, and I was going to sleep I saw bedbug walking on my sheets. After that I checked under the mattress and there was several dead & alive bedbugs. Staff was helpful and moved us to another room which seemed to be ok, and at least we didnt find any signs of bugs. But there has also been many other reviews in google/tripadwisor/booking about bedbugs and I am pissed of that this hostel does not react severely enough to this issue. Also room had weird odour, the window was leaking and we got lot of noises from outside, and hygiene was not good in the bathrooms/showers - there should be more cleaning. I think this hostel has been one of the best in 10 years ago, and common areas had a great vibe. But nowadays its sad that they have an issue with bedbugs and hygiene. And when we told about bedbugs staff didnt even seem to be suprised. In the end, I will not come back. And before this hostel takes these issues seriously, neither should you.
Perfect and amazing staff who gave us a warm welcome to Porto! Really pleasant stay, great location in the central area, lots of restaurants and bars within a 5 minute walk. Really comfy beds.
This hostel is dirtyyyy. The bathrooms smelled like pee 24/7, the floors were constantly dirty, and it was obvious that no one cleaned the bathroom since they were out of hand soap for 2+ days!! The dorm room was a bit better but my linens always felt a bit damp and I could see mold spots on the walls. Also someone else that was staying there told me they found bed bugs. Had to leave early and book another hostel because I felt so disgusting at PILOT.
This hostel... We stayed here for two nights and honestly, it was chef’s kiss. Comfy beds, clean, great location, and such a chill vibe. The staff? Absolutely lovely. And the pub crawl? 10/10 would recommend. The guy running it brought the VIBE, AND danced along like a true legend. Had an epic weekend in Porto 🔥.
