Really nice and cheap hostel in the center of Porto. The rooms are better than average and the whole building is very clean and welcoming. The staff is also really welcoming (shoutout to Luma who checked us in after our 5:20 flight) and helps with all the problems. If you need a good place to stay, here it is :)
Lovely little hostel but there’s not much going on. Communal areas are small and depending on the staff working there would welcoming conversation or minimal interaction. Solo traveling I had expected to meet people but it just wasn’t that kind of experience on the most part. That being said the hostel is clean and generally quiet. It’s in a good location - a short walk from Trindade station, and very easy to walk into central Porto or connect to the beach via the bus or metro.
They cancelled our booking 2 hours after the beginning of check in time (at 17:00), only by email, due to what they claimed was water damage. This was a Friday night and we had problems finding other accommodation in the city. I found our room available on Airbnb for double the price, when they claimed that they had no other rooms available in the hostel. We also still haven't received our refund and they have not answered my emails regarding this.
I had booked a bed where I specifically mentioned i needed a lower bed. They confirmed that the request is possible. When I reached, I found out they were out of lower beds. I even asked if it is possible to be transferred to a lower bed the next day which they said was not possible. Although I found out people were leaving the next day. So please confirm before you reach the hostel to get your desired bed.
Stayed for a month, it’s great hostel for long stays. The hostel is quite and cozy, and the shared kitchen is the place you meet people and start friendships 😁 The hostel is super clean and they clean everyday. The staff is super nice and friendly. The only downside is that there is no elevator and no washing machines. Highly recommended it, especially for those who want to stay for long time and looking for home-alike and quiet place.
