SUPER basic… like in an old church or something?! But it’s a place to lay our head. And with our own bathroom. Downside: NOT in Baiona, which looked super cool, next door to here by a few km. The shower sucked, the bathroom smelled industrial, the walls were thin, the bed wasn’t the best, housekeeping walked into our room at like 7am or something trying to clean. No A/C. Only plus is being right on the Camino.

During my Camino Portuguese I planned to stay in this Albergue and, as per their rules, they are not accepting reservations. Even thought I was there 2.5 hours before the opening of the check-in and I was the first in queue, at 2.30 pm, they said me that all the beds were already reserved. This is not fair.

Stayed one night in the albergue during the Camino. Single bedroom with shared bathroom and shower for 18€. Good price value. No kitchen, but plenty of restaurants and a supermarket in the vicinity. Really nice garden which can be used.

Great building with a Parador feel and perfect location but the private room stunk like mold and the room is too basic. They need renovation if they are to stay in business.

I stopped here in April 2022 whilst doing the Portuguese Camino. The accommodation is handily located for the Camino and set in some quite amazing grounds. I remember double checking my booking as I walked through the grand stone entrance gate to see the beautiful old building in front of me. There are mixed types of accommodation here, I stopped in a private room. The room was very basic and a bit worn out to be fair. However it was priced fairly and it did not ruin my stay. A 10min walk downhill into town if your legs can make the extra distance and there you will find, amongst other things, food places and a large supermarket. It seemed a popular choice to get to the supermarket and make a picnic back in the grounds of the Guest House which are very sizeable. Would I stop here again ? Yes if the price is right, especially to re-live the relaxing end of day picnic.
