What a treat… from the minute we walked in from a day on the Camino, Carlo greeted us so warmly and we felt like it was a great place. Our room was perfect, hottest shower and wonderful amenities. Carlos was helpful in suggesting a great seafood restaurant and even advised a friend how to get to a shoe store. Sitting next to the pool in the late afternoon was so relaxing!!He is a true gem in the hotel/tourism industry. It was minutes from the Camino path. I highly recommend this hotel.

I stayed here for one night while walking the Camino de Santiago, and it was an exceptional experience. The hotel is beautifully curated—every corner reflects thoughtful design and attention to detail. It’s clear that a lot of care and pride has gone into creating a welcoming, charming space. Service was outstanding. The staff were not only friendly but genuinely committed to going above and beyond. Breakfast was generous and full of flavor—definitely a highlight. Our room was located just steps from the pool, which added to the relaxing atmosphere. The town itself is small, but this hotel alone makes it worth a return visit. 5/5 – highly recommended. You won’t regret staying here. One of the best hotels that I’ve stayed in Portugal.

Blue Ancora Hotel is a hidden gem on the Camino trail and the customer service from Carlos is exceptional! From check-in to checkout, Carlos went over and above to answer our questions, help with trip-planning, and advert crises - all which was greatly appreciated as tired foreigners. The room was immaculate, bed was comfortable and there was working AC! The attention to detail left a luxury-feel and I was lucky enough to have a room off the stunning pool. Location is close to the beach hosting beautiful sunsets and yummy food. Speaking of food, the breakfast provided at the hotel was also delicious and plentiful! Can’t recommend this place enough!

Stayed here while doing the Camino. Wonderful host and hostess . Our room spacious and so comfy. We chose family style dinner at the hotel for the night and it was superb and reasonably priced. The breakfast was so yummy.. wonderful stay. Highly recommend..

What a wonderful place. I stayed there last week for one night with a group of friends. We were treated royally for the duration of our stay. Clean tidy and comfortable. There was a slight problem with payment and I was home trying to sort it when out of the blue Carlos rang me saying that he has it in hand and will get it sorted. Great service. Thanks Carlos.
