One of my favourite towns of the camino and this albergue had such a beautiful location. Could not beat walking out the door and being steps to the beach. Also a very convenient laundromat one block away. I will say the room was packed but the lockers were a great size and helpful to not make the room too cluttered. These were definitely the most bed-buggy looking mattresses I saw on my camino, but I found zero bugs and got zero bites. If the owner bought mattress protectors it might help ease a Peregrino's mind a bit, but everything turned out okay.

Location is amazing! Room, facilities, bed - everything was clean. Was a little bit afraid of reading the reviews, but all turned opposite way. Recommend👍

This place needs a serious plumbing intervention. The welcome is warm, the vibe tuned into the rhythm of pilgrims, and the beds are comfortable enough to mend tired bones. But the shower situation is an absurd little game—fiddle with the valve long enough and you might earn a dribble of warm water. God help you if someone else dares to shower at the same time. The bathroom has no ventilation and smells like a wet cave. The internet is strong in signal but weak in spirit—just like the shower pressure. Hotel rooms are musky. Still, it’s got charm in the way that coastal hostels do: a bit scrappy, a bit salty. You’ll share space with surfers and seasonal workers, and you’re just steps from the beach. If you're after a Camino place that has some heart (but not hot water), this one's for you. Just don’t expect miracles—except maybe the sunset.

Today we had a very unpleasant experience at Guest House D’Avenida. After walking 37 kilometers on our pilgrimage route from Porto to Santiago, we arrived at the guesthouse to ask about available beds. We were offered spots in a 20-bed room. Since we are not walking alone, we sat near the entrance to call our children, who were still 9 kilometers behind us, to check if this option would work for them as well. While we were on the call, a staff member approached us and rudely asked us to leave the premises, accusing us of using their internet. Her behavior was extremely inappropriate: false accusations, rudeness, and a complete lack of respect toward pilgrims. We were not using their Wi-Fi — we, like most modern travelers, have mobile data. This kind of treatment is especially disappointing in a place that is supposed to welcome and support pilgrims. People with such an attitude should not be working in pilgrim accommodations. I do not recommend Guest House D’Avenida: rude staff, poor manners, and a total absence of basic humanity.

The room was decently sized. However, it was not clean. The sheet had musky smells, and the bed was not clean (sandy and small unknown objects—maybe stones). The owner was friendly enough to point us to the recommended shop, but it was very dodgy, and the prices were all over the place. It was also filled with drunk fishermen. We then realised that many other shops have everything and are decent. The kitchen was dirty.
