New Pilgrim Hostel of Ferrol

It is MAD how rude the lady is at the front. Hot water and beds are comfy but no blankets (they say they have online and she was like yeah whatever 👍🏼). Place has a lot of potential though. Buen camino

Credencial and €10 required for entry. It's new, clean and barebones, emphasis on the latter. Dining area has a microwave, sink and an electric stove but no silverware. Sinks don't have soap but there are paper towels and toilet paper. Shower is shared by gender. You are expected to bring your own toiletries, towel and blanket (if need be), disposable bedsheet and pillow cover is provided. There is a hand-washing station for laundry with a clothesline, but you can also walk on down to the nearby laundromat and get it done for €7. There's also a Froiz supermarket close by if you need supplies. When you are ready to begin your Camino Ingles, just follow the road all the way downhill to the starting point. It's not really "off route" if it's at the start of the Way. Also a note for people who are using luggage transfer services: these services do NOT pickup from here due to the late opening hours (1pm) so make sure to make arrangements if possible. My only complaint is that there was no wifi when I visited (14-15 July) despite it being indicated on the rules sign on entry. Also it would be nice to have a bus stop nearby, I could only get as close as Canido and had to walk about 10-15 minutes.

Nice modern hostel / albergue with good facilities but no outdoor area.

A very large albergue. Everything was in its place and very clean. The staff was very helpful. The windows overlook the harbor.

The lady at the reception is absolutely awful. Extremely rude. And she was angry with me for putting my bag on the chair in the reception, whilst not saying anything to the lady after me. She was watching something on her phone (a clip or a series or something) and made me wait until she finished watching. She alternated between English and Spanish, tho I told her I don’t speak Spanish. Instead of trying to explain it in another way she just raised her voice at me. She should not be working with people at all. There is a useless kitchen because there isn’t anything beside a microwave and a refrigerator. There’s no soap, the beds are just covered with paper, not even a blanket. Toilet paper ran out. The bathrooms were dirty. The light in the ceiling was on non stop. Honestly felt like a prison.
