As a pilgrim, I stopped for something to eat. The owner served me.The food offered was ok. I had one slice of toast with avacado spread. The price was 6 eu. I was quite disappointed he would charge a hungry pilgrim so much for that! It certainly was much higher than the average price for same. I advise pilgrims of this as I felt a bit taken advantage of…a whole container of the spread costs 2 eu.

I was greeted so warmly by those who run this alburgue and throughout my evening there they continued to exude warmth and kindness. The atmosphere feels cozy and relaxing thanks to the outdoor lounging area that overlooks the beautiful garden as well as the indoor couches nestled next to the fireplace. The bunk beds and mattresses felt comfortable. Warm blankets are available to curl up with during the chilly fall nights. The hosts are so attentive to their guests. For instance, as the evening dew was settling in, they ensured guests were alerted to this so that they could bring in their laundry from the line preventing it from getting wet with dew. Additionally, throughout the dinner meal they were also attentive to the needs of the guests (ie filling up water jugs, replenishing bread). The meal was home-made and so delicious. They offered two soup options and two main course options and both looked delicious. I had the vegetable cream soup, which was a pureed vegetable soup and for my main a Spanish tortilla with salad. They also offered an apple compote for dessert. I lfet the meal feeling satisfied and nourished. So grateful to have stayed here. One important note: the alburgue does not provide breakfast and there is only one restaurant in this town that opens at 8am. I reccomend coming prepared with food/caffeine options if you need something before starting your day and plan to leave the town before 8.

The dinner was great. The best veggie soup, then a wonderful salad lightly dressed and pork that was not over cooked (a common problem here). The pork has a light orange sauce that was very good and a little side of rice. Classic Spanish tortilla was the vegetarian option. A good price on the Camino for €12. The house is OLD and so the stone stairs and fireplace are part of its charm. It's not high class or slick but it is comfortable and we were well cared for and slept well. The beds in the double private room (€40) we're clean and comfortable.

Can not say enough good things. Absolutely gorgeous building, meal was delicious and filling, common areas were relaxing. The owner however.....so kind. I forgot my expensive camera there when I left in the morning. When I realized I had forgotten it, A call was made and my beloved camera was forwarded on to Finisterre for me. Can not thank the owner enough for his kindness.
