Albergue “Via Trajana“

The alternative route is very nice, and so is this small dorm of 4 beds; not very busy when I was there. Starting in the morning from there the first hour is on the road but then it gets really beautiful again.

I stayed here in early May for 1 night while on the Camino Francés. I stayed in a private room with private bath (I was in the Cama Matrimonial which cost 50€). Everything was clean albeit a little dated. Towels and bedding are provided (no soap). The rooms are quiet; I could not hear my neighbors. There are blackout blinds which help for a restful sleep. The owners are kind and accomodating. The menu del dia for dinner is one of the best I had on the Camino so far. I recommend the lamb stew. They also offer breakfast (not included in accommodation) starting at 0700. There is no washer/dryer service available, but there are drying racks on the back patio for hand washed laundry. The friendly hosts are what make this accommodation worthwhile.

Their website has a Spanish and English page. The English page says the cost is €15 but when I arrived they said it is €20. Seems they haven't updated their website correctly but they should have honoured the price shown. I feel like i have been tricked. Also there was a scratching noise in the roof on and off all night. Dread to think what it was.

We had a wonderful stay. The accommodations were extremely comfortable and our hosts were welcoming. One of the best showers we had along the camino. Great pot of coffee with breakfast!

Off the main track and wonderful! Clean, modern, quiet, great service, good price, lovely patios, comfortable beds. I wouldn't even classify it as an albergue, it's definitely a step above!
