I stayed at the Albergue de Peregrinos de Bruma one night in early April 2026, while I was doing the Camino de Santiago. The albergue is bare-bones. There are three bathroom facilities (men, women, and neutral). In the women's bathroom, I can say there was a shower area (I believe with two shower heads, for two people, but it might have been only one) and a separate toilet stall and separate sink area. The facilities could have been cleaner, but I think that has more to do with who the peregrinos are on any given day/week. There was an electric washer and a dryer available for a few euros as well as a place to hand wash clothing and hang it up to dry. There are two floors with bunkbeds, four to each cubicle area. If you stay here, they will give you a hostal sheet/case for your bed. I used a cocoon/mummy bag, so it didn't matter to me much. The kitchen has few if any amenities, though it does have a microwave. Honestly, after walking 27 km on a day when the weather temperatures ranged from 40 F to 75 F and it was rainy and windy at points, I didn't care where I was going to sleep. I was just thankful that there was any place to sleep. I will say that the people I met were really wonderful (I'm still in touch with many), the woman who worked at the facility was kind, and the restaurant a few feet from the albergue served wonderful food. It cost 10 euros, and I have a lifetime of memories.
It’s small and quaint, and the woman who runs it is exceptionally kind. The bathrooms are located outside, which can be challenging in bad weather.
The worst albergue municipal I visited on four Caminos. The woman managing the albergue is really friendly, but the albergue itself is way below any standard. Of course no equipment in the kitchen, just a microwave, a fridge and an old stove. 19 beds in a really small building over two levels, no place to put your backpack. The toilet (only one for each gender) and the showers (two showers in one small room, so no privacy at all and no place to put your stuff) are located outside in a separate building without heating. If it's raining, everyone tries to dry the clothes and the boots somewhere inside the albergue, because the original place is outside. No supermarket, so even carry your food or eat in the only restaurant in this small village. Thus albergue definitely needs to be refurbished and rebuilt.
Pre-book (do it early!) other private albergue if you have a choice. There is dryer and washing machine, Euro3 for each. Bunk beds on ground floor and upper floor.
This Albergue was a life saver, while running the Camino Ingles I became unwell and happened upon this Albergue,like an Oasis in the desert. The lady running the Albergue was amazing,so helpful and nice.I got my bed and had some soup at the local Bar that helped settle my stomach. The albergue was amazingly clean , warm with great facilities. Thank you to the lady and the other lovely Spanish pilgrim staying there who also looked after me . After a couple of hours sleep I set off to complete my pilgrim run to Santiago. Note: this is one of the few Albergues that allows you to leave early via a side door ,I head out at 3 am you just need to be quiet when doing so.
