Worst one we had on the Camino. Chose it because there are limited options in Fene, which isn't a usual stop for pilgrims. Our room was a mix and match of furniture, and the majority of items listed on booking.com weren't even provided. At least when we asked for a hairdryer it was provided. The owner then proceeded to explain in Spanish the bathroom situation, which on booking.com it was stated that it was a private bathroom. It wasn't. It is shared between 4-5 rooms. The bathroom flushing doesn't even work, keeps leaking out, no door on shower and no soap provided. Just a crusty looking sponge on the side. Not even a simple bath rug was there, so after everyone had had a shower, it ended up being a slip hazard. And one time while I was in the bathroom, another one of the occupants opened the door on me, twice. No central heating, and lukewarm water. By far the worst aspect was that the temperature inside was very cold. Since there was no central heating and humidity, it was very uncomfortable to sleep during the night. Loud street noises as well. Breakfast was supposed to be included. By 7 30 in the morning we still hadn't seen any sign of the owner so we just left. Definitely change your plans to end up in place with more options (for the Camino)

If you are doing the Camino, you can stop here, however it’s not exactly on the way. Ask for the stamp as they have the most adorable one. Rooms not really fresh and clean, however it’s worth it.

I was looking at the reviews, and I thought it was a highly rated place, but of course, if you have the reviews of the previous business alongside yours and the previous owner's reviews, and they're all excellent, it's confusing for anyone—a dirty trick. If you say your service includes a continental breakfast and all you get is coffee or tea with a supermarket pastry, you should find out what a continental breakfast is, not your breakfast at home with a generic bagged pastry. If you say you have a private bathroom and it turns out to be one bathroom for four rooms, something's wrong. My advice: don't trust reviews from more than two years ago; they're from a previous business.

Francisco, the hostel owner, is an exceptional person. From the moment we arrived, he greeted us with a big smile, good humor, and a genuine warmth. He has a very welcoming bar where you can see the affection and respect he has for pilgrims. He's an honest, friendly, and generous person, the kind who makes you feel at home even when you're far away. Our room was spacious, very clean, with a TV, wardrobe, and towels already laid out when we arrived. Everything was taken care of down to the last detail. We left with genuine smiles and valuable advice for the Camino. Thank you, Fran! You're a great guy, and so is your hostel ❤️
