Albergue Monsanto

Happy to have an albergue here. Picked up the key at "Grupo Desportivo e Recreativo de Monsanto". Cost 10 euro pp. Not very clean, but a nice place nonetheless :)

Nice albergue! It’s a very special location. If it’s closed you can get the key at the Junta de Freguesia. We had a hot shower but unfortunately the sheets weren’t very clean.

Great place. You have to ask for the key in the post office located in the "Junta de Fregesia de Monsanto" 3 minutes away. They may receive you every day. The albergue has some stairs until you get to it. Bathroom includes a single shower woth hot water available. NO KITCHEN. NO WASHING MACHINE. Cheap price 5-6€. There are 6 beds, but they have some more (5-8) mattresses that you can pun on the floor. There is a place outside where you can wash your clothes by hand. Beds are confortable and there are enough blankets avaiilable. It's located in the place of an old church. There is a bar and a shop quite near the albergue.

We stayed here in April 2023. Fantastic little alberge with 6 beds, kitchen area and a shower. Located in a historical building - a bell tower that used to call agricaltural laborers to work. I would suggest to call them in advance to make sure there are beds available, especially in the high season as this place can fill up fast. The cost was €10 per person.
