Service was superb. Our attendant was precise in her positioning of cutlery. Extremely attentive to our needs with recommendations and advice. We shared calamari dinner as an appetizer. Steak was very good. Dessert for me was a foamy fruity delight. We enjoyed a long, quiet, delicious meal

💯🍷👌Excellent choice. Superb food using local ingredients. Well elaborated plates with good range of choices to suit all from Cocido to fresh fish and meats. All my food was served hot to my liking, was well presented & arrived quickly but above all was tasty. I noted they had a good choice of wines for pairing. The establishment is, also tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. The best was the superb service from Ramón. I will definitely be back for more!
We didn't stay at the hotel since ours was a day visit to Astorga. If you visit norther Spain, you have to to spend at least a day in this quaint small city just 45 minutes for the city of Leon and you must stop at the restaurant La Peseta. The food quality, presentation and service are top notch. The Cocido Maragato (Maragato Stew) is delicious and so rich and abundant that one order will satisfy two people with some to spare. They use the freshest ingredients in their salads and the highest quality olive oil. We were waited by the owner who is on the restaurant floor to assure that customers are completely satisfied with the quality of the food and the service. The local is very nice and well located in the old historic city center. You cannot go wrong having lunch or dinner at La Peseta.
This review is for the restaurant, as I didn’t stay in the hotel. I loved the lunch I had here—an ensaladilla with ventresca (tuna) to start, then a stew of alibis (white beans) and chorizo. Everything was excellent and would highly recommend.
This is by far the top restaurant in the area. A family business going back over a century. The food and service is spot on. Top place and amazing cooking, highest quality dishes.
